About Google for Startups Accelerator
What you get
Google's accelerator gives equity-free support for the length of the programme: technical, product and leadership training from Google experts, a mix of remote and in-person sessions, one-to-one and group work, and sprint projects. Each cohort has 10 to 15 startups. Eligible startups receive Google product credits, may apply for Google Cloud credits during the programme (subject to review), and may get free Cloud TPU access for open-source machine-learning research. There is no cash investment.
Programmes run in three regions: Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific.
Who qualifies
Google says teams should generally:
- show traction, ideally at Seed to Series A;
- build a scalable product with a large market and defensible growth;
- be deeply technical, preferably using machine learning and AI;
- have a CTO or technical lead committed to the required sessions.
Each regional programme has its own specific requirements.
Good to know
- No deadlines are shown on the main page; check the regional page for open cohorts.
- Because it takes no equity, it can sit alongside an equity accelerator or a seed round.
- Credit amounts are not stated on the accelerator page.
Verdict
A no-dilution way to get Google's technical mentors and credits once you have traction. Not a source of funding in itself.
How to apply
- Open startup.google.com/programs/accelerator/ and choose your region (Americas, EMEA, Asia Pacific).
- Check that region's open cohorts and requirements.
- Apply on the regional page.
