What you get

Justworks offers US payroll software on its own or as a PEO (professional employer organisation), where Justworks becomes co-employer so your small team can access benefits usually reserved for larger companies. The pricing page lists:

• Payroll: $8 per employee per month plus a $50 monthly base fee, with HR tools and access to time tracking.
• PEO Basic: $79 per employee per month, no base fee, adding compliance support, HR consulting, 24/7 support and 401(k).
• PEO Plus: $124 per employee per month, adding medical, dental and vision administration, HSA/FSA accounts and mental health and fertility benefits.
• EOR: $599 per employee per month for full-time hires outside the US.

Add-ons include time tracking at $8 per employee a month and international contractor payments in over 60 countries at $39 per paid contractor a month.

Who qualifies

US teams for Payroll and PEO; EOR covers employees abroad. Workers' compensation is required on PEO plans.

Good to know

• The PEO route is what gives a small startup access to group health insurance from major carriers; the plain Payroll plan does not include medical insurance access.
• PEO pricing has no base fee, so cost scales directly with headcount.
• No startup offer is listed on the pricing page.

Verdict

Choose Justworks Payroll if you just need to pay a small US team. Choose PEO Plus if offering competitive health benefits matters for hiring; it costs more per head but replaces a broker and a lot of admin.
