Test latency and voice quality with your real scripts on a free account first, then claim the perk when you are ready to build in earnest, so the 12 months cover your launch rather than early experiments. If you are not in Google's Scale tier, other voice programmes in this category, such as ElevenLabs Startup Grants or the Deepgram and AssemblyAI programmes, have their own, more open, routes.

Verdict

A useful add-on if you are already in Google's Scale tier and your product needs low-latency text to speech. Otherwise it is out of reach.
