About Pilot
What you get
Pilot pairs software with an accounting team to keep your books, file your company taxes and, later, act as your finance function. Prices on the pricing page:
- Bookkeeping Essentials: $99 a month, for up to $100,000 in monthly expenses on a cash basis.
- Bookkeeping Core: shown as starting at $0 a month billed annually (confirm with sales), and Custom: contact sales.
- Tax (requires Pilot Bookkeeping, billed annually): single-member LLCs from $1,000+ a year, partnerships and S corps from $2,000+, C corps from $2,450+.
- CFO (billed annually): Basic from $1,750 a month, Essentials $3,150 a month, Custom from $5,250 a month.
Who qualifies
US companies. Tax plans are only sold to Pilot bookkeeping customers.
Good to know
- Startup pricing on the page: newly formed single-member LLCs, and newly incorporated partnerships and S corps, can start tax at $750 a year (limited availability). Pre-revenue companies are invited to contact sales for a discount on the Core plan, and stock administration is free for pre-seed founders.
- Essentials is cash basis. If investors ask for accrual books, check which plan you need.
- Pilot runs a $500 gift card referral reward, but only employees of existing customers can refer.
- Tax is sold annually and only alongside bookkeeping, so compare the combined yearly cost with a software-plus-accountant setup before you sign.
- If you will raise soon, ask which plan produces the financial statements investors usually request in due diligence.
Verdict
Pilot is a good fit for a funded US startup that wants clean books and tax filings handled by one provider. Pre-revenue founders should ask about the Core discount before paying for Essentials.
How to apply
- Open the Pilot pricing page and choose a bookkeeping plan.
- If you are pre-revenue, contact sales and ask for the Core plan discount.
- Connect your bank, card and payment accounts.
