What you get

The OVHcloud US Startup Program has two 12-month levels:

• Start: up to $12,000 in free OVHcloud public cloud credits, 6 hours of one-to-one time with an engineer, visibility for your startup and access to the community.
• Scale: up to $120,000 in public cloud credits, 20 hours with an engineer and more personal visibility.

OVHcloud runs the program in other countries too (the global site is startup.ovhcloud.com), where amounts may be stated in euros and can differ; the figures above are from the US pages.

Who qualifies

OVHcloud supports "innovative, technical startup projects with growth potential" that have at least a proof of concept or MVP that can run on its cloud. NGOs, crypto mining, agencies, e-commerce sites and existing members are not supported. As a guide, an early-stage startup spending hundreds of dollars a month on cloud is likely Start; a startup that has closed a Series A and spends thousands a month is Scale. OVHcloud decides the tier and may upgrade you if you grow quickly.

Good to know

• No exclusivity: you can be in another cloud provider's startup program at the same time.
• One membership only, usually in the country where you are incorporated or plan to operate.
• On the US program, vouchers cover only US public cloud products.
• After 12 months remaining credits are removed and you pay in full; you move to an account manager as an alumnus.
• Decisions usually come within 7 days.

Verdict

A solid, partner-free option, especially if you want a European-owned provider or predictable public cloud pricing. Smaller ecosystem than the big three.

1. Fill in the Startup Program inquiry form on the OVHcloud site for your country (you can apply before creating an account).
2. Describe your proof of concept or MVP and your expected cloud usage.
3. Wait for a decision, usually within 7 days.
4. Once accepted, sign the contract, create your account and use the STARTUP_PROGRAM voucher on eligible orders.
