What you get

Lemon Squeezy is a merchant of record: it calculates, collects, files and pays sales tax and VAT for you, and handles checkout, subscriptions, licence keys, digital downloads and a built-in affiliate system for your own products. Pricing is 5% plus 50 cents per transaction with no monthly fee; email marketing is free up to 500 subscribers. Merchants who run an affiliate programme pay an extra 3% on referred orders.

Good to know

• Stripe acquired Lemon Squeezy in 2024. In a January 2026 update, Lemon Squeezy's CEO wrote that the team is focused on building Stripe Managed Payments as its successor, which has meant slower support and fewer product updates, and that the goal is an easy migration for existing users.
• Stripe Managed Payments was in early access (waitlist) at that time, supporting merchants in 35+ countries.
• Expect a migration at some point; keep your customer and subscription data exportable.

• Lemon Squeezy's migration offer page advertises 0% fees for your first month when you switch from another platform; the page does not say whether the offer is still running, so confirm before relying on it.
• The site footer now reads "Sold through Link, LLC f/k/a Lemon Squeezy LLC".

Verdict

Still a quick way to sell digital products with tax handled, but new SaaS founders should weigh Paddle or Stripe Managed Payments, since Lemon Squeezy's own roadmap points to Stripe.
