About Amplitude for Startups
What you get
Amplitude's early-stage startup pricing gives your first year of Amplitude 100% free on the full Growth plan: product analytics, session replay, experimentation and feature flags, MCP and agents, unlimited teammates and up to 100M events a month. Amplitude puts the value at $60,000. No credit card is needed.
In year two you get 40% off an annual Plus plan. Alternatively you can drop to the free plan (2M events a month) and keep your data and dashboards with no penalty. Amplitude says startup alumni keep discounts on Plus and Growth annual plans.
Who qualifies
Amplitude's own comparison table gives its eligibility limit as $10M raised and 20 employees. The page does not list other conditions such as company age.
Good to know
- You apply after signing up: create a free account, and the application for the Startup Plan is built into the product.
- Sixty days before the free year ends, Amplitude sends a usage-based quote for year two.
- If you do not reach product-market fit, you can stay on the free plan.
Verdict
A clear, partner-free offer with a soft landing after year one. The 20-employee cap is the main limit; most early teams fit easily. If you are also comparing PostHog and Mixpanel, note that each has different age and funding limits; pick one analytics tool and instrument it properly rather than running several free plans side by side. Applying takes a few minutes from inside the product once your account exists.
