What you get

PostHog for Startups gives $50,000 in PostHog credits for 12 months, plus merchandise and partner perks. PostHog says this covers roughly 950 million product analytics events, or more than 6 million session recordings, across its platform: product analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys, error tracking and LLM analytics.

Who qualifies

• Your company is less than 2 years old.
• You have raised less than $5M.
• You signed up for PostHog any time from 1 January 2023.
• Your PostHog account uses your company email domain. Personal addresses such as gmail.com or outlook.com are not accepted.

Good to know

• To apply you upgrade to a paid plan (you only pay for usage) and complete the startups form from an account on your company email. PostHog applies the credit automatically if you are eligible and emails you once accepted.
• From 14 September 2026, startup credits no longer pay for PostHog's token-based AI tools (PostHog Desktop, the Slack app, Replay Vision, PostHog AI and Inbox). They still cover everything else, including LLM analytics.
• Every PostHog product has a monthly free allowance, so you can build for free first and apply once you have a company domain.

Verdict

One of the most generous open analytics perks, with no partner needed. The two-year age limit is the main catch. Apply after you have a company domain and are about to launch, so the 12 months cover your busiest learning period. Set billing limits in PostHog so usage above the credit cannot run up a bill.

1. Sign up for PostHog with your company email address.
2. Upgrade to a paid plan (you are billed only for usage beyond the free allowance).
3. Complete the startups application form from that account.
4. Wait for the acceptance email; the $50,000 credit is applied automatically.
