About Bluevine
What you get
Bluevine Business Checking has three plans. Standard costs $0 a month and pays 1.3% APY on balances up to $250,000 if you spend $500 a month on the debit card or receive $2,500 a month in customer payments. Plus costs $30 a month (waivable) and pays 1.75% APY up to $250,000 with no activity requirement. Premier costs $95 a month (waivable) and pays 3.0% APY on all balances. Banking is provided by Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC, with coverage up to $3M per depositor through program banks. Debit card rebates run through Mastercard Easy Savings.
Who qualifies
Owners of 25% or more applying from the US need an SSN. Applicants from supported countries outside the US need a passport and a US legal address; some features are limited for international customers, and international payments are unavailable to businesses in Nevada or in finance, insurance or mining.
Good to know
- The fee waivers on Plus and Premier depend on conditions set by Bluevine; read them before upgrading.
- Treasury services through Bluevine Advisory are not FDIC-insured and can lose value.
- Bluevine's accountant partner programme rewards firms that bring clients, which is why many bookkeepers suggest it; ask your bookkeeper if they have a code.
- Check the waiver rules each month: if you miss them on Plus or Premier, the monthly fee applies.
Verdict
A good home for idle cash in a small US business that wants interest without a treasury minimum. Less suited to founders without a US legal address.
How to apply

- Owners of 25%+ need an SSN (US) or passport plus US legal address (supported countries).
