About Wise Business
What you get
Wise Business lets your company receive money in 22 currencies (including USD, EUR and GBP), hold and convert balances, pay up to 1,000 contractors at once with batch transfers, and spend with Wise multi-currency cards. In the US there is a single one-time set-up fee of $31 for all business features; registering is free and no monthly account fee is listed. Sending and converting starts from 0.23% depending on currency; receiving USD wires costs $6.11 each, while domestic (non-wire) receipts in AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, HUF, NZD, PHP, SGD and USD are free. ATM withdrawals are free up to $250 a month. Interest is offered on USD, GBP and EUR balances (3.4% variable APY on USD on the US page).
Who qualifies
Wise does not publish one list of eligible countries; requirements depend on where your business is registered. Its help pages mention extra documents for businesses registered in the EEA, UK, US, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines and New Zealand, and businesses in India can sign up. Crypto, tobacco, adult content and other prohibited activities are excluded.
Good to know
- Wise is a money-transfer provider rather than a full bank in most markets; check what your local entity offers.
- Set-up fees differ by country (mandatory in the UK, EEA, Switzerland and Brazil).
Verdict
The cheapest way to get paid in several currencies and pay a global team. Use it alongside a main bank account rather than instead of one.
How to apply
- Create a free Wise account and choose a business account.
- Select the country where your business is registered and your business type.
- Upload company documents and verify directors and owners.
- Pay the one-time set-up fee to unlock account details and cards.
