About Rho
What you get
Rho combines business checking, corporate cards (up to 2% cashback on Rho Platinum, terms apply), expense management, accounts payable, accounting automation and treasury. Its pricing page lists $0 subscription fees, $0 checking minimum fees, $0 per-user fees and $0 same-day ACH, wires and checks (subject to the checking account terms). Foreign currency transfers carry a 1% fee, and Rho Treasury charges 0.15% to 0.6% a year depending on balance. You can also incorporate a Delaware C-corp through Rho and open the account in the same flow. New accounts can get $100 when they deposit (terms apply).
Who qualifies
Rho's help centre says entities must be incorporated in the United States and either hold a US operating address or have one business owner based in the US with a valid SSN. Businesses in or tied to Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria and Venezuela are ineligible. Sole proprietorships are not eligible.
Good to know
- Some Rho pages describe needing both a US-based owner and a US address; confirm your case before relying on the either/or rule.
- Treasury is an investment product with its own fees and risks.
- Founders without an SSN are verified by passport, and Rho says the account can open before the EIN arrives, although money cannot move until the EIN is attached.
Verdict
A strong all-in-one finance stack for US startups that want banking, cards and bill pay without monthly fees. Founders with no US address or US-based owner should look at Mercury.
