MongoDB for Startups 🎁 Program

What you get

MongoDB for Startups gives Atlas credits, Voyage AI tokens (embeddings and rerankers), technical help and go-to-market opportunities. It has four tiers:

• Inspire for bootstrapped startups: baseline credits.
• Grow for early-funded startups: more credits and hands-on technical support.
• Innovate for rising VC-backed startups: additional credits and wider expertise.
• Scale for rapidly scaling startups: maximum credits and priority support.

MongoDB does not publish credit amounts for the tiers on the page.

Who qualifies

For the base tier MongoDB looks for startups that are less than 7 years old and Series A or earlier; focused on a single software product or service (development shops and agencies are not eligible); not previously accepted into the program; and with an active company website and LinkedIn profile. Existing MongoDB Atlas users can apply.

Good to know

• If you have a VC or accelerator, ask them to refer you; otherwise apply directly on the page.
• Accepted startups get a promo code in the welcome email. You have 12 months to activate it, and 12 months to use the credits once activated.
• Extensions for unused credits are considered case by case.
• If you have not heard back after five business days, MongoDB asks you to contact it.

Verdict

A good open program if your product runs on MongoDB or you need vector search and embeddings. The lack of published amounts means you only learn your credit after acceptance. Apply once your product runs on Atlas and you can show a website and LinkedIn page, then activate the code when you expect real usage, since the 12-month credit clock starts at activation rather than at acceptance.

1. Make sure you have a company website and LinkedIn page.
2. Ask your VC or accelerator to refer you, or apply directly on the MongoDB for Startups page if you have no VC/accelerator/incubator affiliation.
3. Complete the form with company email, name, company URL, LinkedIn, HQ country, postal code and funding stage, then submit.
4. Wait for the welcome email with your promo code (contact [email protected] if nothing arrives after 5 business days).
5. Activate the code within 12 months of receiving it: log in to account.mongodb.com as an Org Owner/Billing Admin, go to Billing, click Apply Code, enter the code and submit.
6. Use the credits within 12 months of activation; request an extension from MongoDB about 3 months before they expire.
